<\/p>\n\n The Arab Studies Institute (ASI) and George Mason University's Middle East Studies Program present Arab Uprisings Brown Bag Lecture Series: "Saudi Arabia's Counterrevolutions: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives" on December 5, 2011, at 12 PM, at George Mason University, Research Hall, Room 161. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n Rosie Bsheer<\/strong> is a doctoral candidate in the Department of History at Columbia University, where she also earned a Master of Arts in International Relations in 2006. Her academic training has been primarily in the history, politics, and culture of the modern Middle East, with a focus on the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. Since 2010, Rosie has also served as Co-Editor for Jadaliyya. Rosie just returned to New York City after two years of conducting dissertation research in Saudi Arabia as an SSRC-IDRF fellow and Columbia University GSAS fellow for her dissertation, currently titled “Making History: Petro-modernity and Spatial Transformations in Saudi Arabia<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
