The talk will analyze Obama's policies and wars in the Middle East and the extent to which the Bush doctrine differs or overlaps with the Obama doctrine. The talk will also analyze Middle Eastern reactions to President Obama, particularly from the Arab World.

As`ad AbuKhalil is Professor of Political Science at CSU Stanislaus and visiting professor atUniversity of California, Berkeley. AbuKhalil is the author of Historical Dictionary of Lebanon (1998), Bin Laden, Islam & America's New "War on Terrorism" (2002), and The Battle for Saudi Arabia (2004). He maintains one of the prominent blogs on the Middle East, The Angry Arab News Service.
